About Aajil
Aajil is a Saudi, Sharia-compliant B2B working-capital fintech for the industrial supply chain: contractors, traders, and manufacturers. We run the entire lending business on an internal product suite we built ourselves, credit decisioning, collections, deal processing, the sales platform, document intelligence, and an AI outbound engine.
We're genuinely AI-native. Most implementation here is orchestrating AI (Claude and our own agentic development platform) rather than hand-writing code, and every builder works this way. We're scaling deployments hard (SAR 115M → 150M per quarter), ship in weekly sprints, and keep a deliberately flat, low-management culture where people are trusted with outsized ownership.
What you'll do
Take a vague, important problem and own it through to a shipped solution that's live and used, going to the source to understand the real need.
Turn ambiguity into a clear spec: what to build, why, and what "done" looks like, and set the technical direction for it.
Build it yourself, AI-leveraged and fast, and ship it against your own definition of done.
Own your delivery from spec to production: unblock yourself, ship, and verify it actually solved the problem in the real world.
Build for maintainability and hand over well, so what you ship lives on without you, and raise the engineering bar for others.
Spot the problems no one flagged. Across deal processing, collections, and revenue, proactive improvement is nobody's job today. It becomes yours.
What we're looking for
You thrive in ambiguity - the messier and more important the brief, the more we want you on it.
You speak both languages - you sit with a credit officer or a salesperson and write the code, translating business into system with no middleman.
You're self-accountable - you drive outcomes to done with zero follow-up.
You're AI-native - you build primarily by orchestrating AI and ship several times faster because of it. A hard requirement, not a bonus.
You build whole systems, not features - net-new products and deep rebuilds, owned end to end in production.
You started in engineering and grew into product. Engineering-deep, product-minded. The blend is the whole point.
You take an ambiguous, high-impact business problem and own it end to end - from understanding the real pain to a shipped system that demonstrably solves it. You're fluent in both business and engineering, and you use AI to move at a pace a traditional team can't touch.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of software development with Python or similar languages.
Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
Skilled at running technical discovery with stakeholders to clarify needs, constraints, and success criteria.
Hands-on experience building data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data, leveraging vector databases and RAG-style retrieval to power enterprise AI applications.
A track record of owning a system end to end in production, shipped and operated.
Preferred qualifications
Master's or PhD in AI, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience implementing multi-agent systems with frameworks (e.g., LangChain, ADK).
Hands-on experience with LLM and the evaluation aspects of agentic systems.
Fintech/credit domain; Arabic.
What this role is not
A coordinator's role - you own the problem and the outcome, not a backlog or a hand-off.
Pure product management (you build) or pure engineering (you own the business result, not just the code).
The GTM/ops mandate of launching a new product line or untangling licensing/imports/customs - that's a separate role.
How you'll work
Outside the hierarchy, high autonomy. FDEs deploy onto the highest-leverage problems rather than sitting in a team. Weekly sprints, AI-first tooling, real users (our own credit, ops, and sales teams) on the other side of every project, what you build goes live immediately. This is a senior, top-of-band seat, and it's paid like one.
How we hire
No leetcode. A recruiter screen, then two live technical rounds: one where we hand you a real, ambiguous problem from our world and watch you scope and design it; one where you write code unaided and then build AI-leveraged. We're testing turning ambiguity into shipped value, and fluency in both business and engineering.
If that's the work you want to be doing, apply.
