THE ROLE

Data at Aajil is not a reporting function, it is a decision system. This role exists to ensure that data is accurate, trusted, and actively used to drive business outcomes across teams.

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will operate as a high-impact individual contributor while acting as a technical reference point for the analyst team. You are not a people manager, but you are expected to lead through expertise, enforce standards, and elevate the quality of analytical output across the organization.

This role sits at the intersection of analytics, business context, and data infrastructure. The expectation is strong execution, independent thinking, and the ability to influence both analysts and stakeholders.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Advanced Analytics & Insight Generation
Deliver high-quality analyses across product, growth, and business functions. Go beyond reporting to identify drivers, patterns, and actionable insights.

Analyst Quality & Standards
Establish and enforce QA processes across the analyst pool. Review and audit work, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clarity in outputs.

Requirements & Stakeholder Management
Own requirements gathering for medium-complexity projects. Translate business needs into structured analytical work and communicate outputs clearly.

Data System Collaboration
Work closely with Data Engineers and upstream systems. Understand data models, contribute to discussions, and ensure analytics align with data architecture.

Process & Metric Stewardship
Maintain consistency in metric definitions and prevent definitional drift. Enforce documentation and analytical standards across the team.

Team Support (Lead IC Role)
Act as a daily reference point for analysts. Provide direction, unblock work, and support decision-making without acting as a formal manager.

You have broad exposure across domains (product, growth, marketing, or operations), not a narrow specialization

REQUIREMENTS

Strong individual contributor experience in data analytics (non-negotiable)
Proficiency in SQL and Python
Experience working with BI tools and modern data stacks (e.g., Cube, Preset, or similar)
Experience establishing or enforcing QA processes for analytical outputs
Ability to gather requirements and deliver medium-complexity analytical work independently
Experience collaborating with Data Engineers and understanding data warehouse structures
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in a cross-functional environment
Ability to mentor or guide analysts without formal management authority
Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to enhance analytical workflows

NICE TO HAVE

Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
Experience supporting analytics engineering or working closely with data modeling layers
Exposure to BI migrations (e.g., Metabase to modern stack)
Strong documentation habits (e.g., Notion, structured knowledge sharing)
Experience improving analyst efficiency or scaling analytics output
Ability to independently deliver advanced analytics and complex analytical work
